The Middle East is an area where vehicle is king and fuel is cheap, typically leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.
But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have actually pushed up the price of oil, the concern of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one organization is making the most of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing profitable too, already their client-list contains McDonald's.
